Well, I think we all owe Ken Hirai, Bill Ritch (producer for Genji: Days of the Blade), and game developers Game Republic an apology. Apparently, it WAS based on history. If you aren't familiar with the back story...
And now what am I talking about? Well I came across this at the Atlanta Aquarium.
Are those?...
Well they weren't exactly Giant Enemy Crabs but they were Japanese Spider Crabs and according to the info plaque could grow to span of 14 feet. Furthermore, a 14 foot crab only weighs about 44 pounds so a violent blow to the ground by the legendary Benkei could conceivably flip over such a beast causing it to reveal his weak point.
So again. To Kaz Hirai, Bill Ritch, and Game Republic. Sorry. It was fun while it lasted.

I won't apologize, his trying to sell "Real time Weapons change" as something new really hit my funny bone for massive laughter
