Labour of Love?
What fabulous weather we had for a BBQ!
It'd be funny to do a post about how wrapping food in bacon makes it better and just see how crazy I could go. Watermelon, wrapped it bacon! Burrito, wrapped in bacon! Twinkie, wrapped in bacon! Maybe there is more truth to that than I give it credit for. I remember bacon wrapped nian gao got me through that meal once when I was young and could not eat the sticky cake.

Saturday of Activities
Kick Ball!
@ Kimball Field
Twain the Dog
So after a 11-0 first inning, we swapped two players and the other team came back to win 20-19.
In game 2, what was a pretty tight game sudden burst into a 20 run 5th inning crushing the other (remixed) team's spirits. This despite them only being down by 12 and the 11 runs having been previously bested. And welcome back Scott and Crystal.
The Buckshot now has a kitchen??? The sign on the right is hard to read but it reads "Ike Turner - shot of Hennesey and a slap in the face $10"
Pulled Pork!
Country Fried Bacon?!? They need to double up the strips so it's thicker. I think that place in Texas triples their strips. And then they need that white country fried sauce. They served theirs with maple syrup which isn't bad but it isn't country fried!
IBC Root Beer in a boot mug
Then I went home and ended up watching Water Boys on crunchyroll. The movie featured both the ever crazy Naoto Takenaka and a scene with Dance Dance Revolution.

Thai Tim & Shabu Shabu
Met up with my old roommate Tim (unpictured) who is in SF from Thailand with his brother helping him get setup as his brother will be following his footsteps and attending the Academy's industrial design program. I gave him the study hard pep talk because hard work + good studying beats natural talent + lazy over time.

Potato medley! Who will be the winner? Left: Japanese Yam, Top: Taro, Bottom: Purple Yam
Orzo cooked in a shrimp broth. I sort of killed the shrimp flavor so I guess I wasted $1.50 on those.
Baked in some hollowed zucchini. And since the shrimp flavor was already dead, I just went ahead and added cheese on it. Oh, there is a strip of bacon lining the bottom. This was very hard to eat because the orzo would fly out very easily.
And the winner is the purple yam!

San Francisco's Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival in Golden Gate Park
That's the official name. Quite a mouthful. So I guess it has been a long time since San Francisco has had a big concert in the park. At least that's what I recall hearing on the radio when I first found out about this concert. In fact it is a three day concert. On the way in there were plenty of folks looking to score tickets for this sold out event.
A sea of bicycles parked away. If you enlarge the picture, you can see in the middle of the bikes is a person. Just to give you an idea of just how many bikes there are.
A new electric car. 284 miles per charge. I wish they made attachments for these cars. I'm always wondering if I was to get one, then going to somewhere like Ikea would be a futile undertaking but I guess you could spend the money you save on gas on delivery fees but man what a pain that is.
Manu Chow. My old roomate Johan introduced this guy to me. My sister says "manu chow is still around? ha ha." Yeah, he has an endearing reggae/rock feel that says "come love me hippies of San Francisco!"
Here is a crowd shot from the big screen. That's a lot of freaking people. Must have been exciting for the performers.
The Black Keys. They were really meh. The sound was really loud but luckily I had some earplugs on hand.
Here is a shot of the crowd SWARMING in for Friday night's headliners Radiohead.
They had a neat stage set with... they are iridescent. I forget the word. But they catch light in interesting ways. Maybe they are just white tubes. I think you could achieve a similar effect with a bunch of hanging PVC pipes and some lights but they did some neat things with them.
An interesting use of on stage cameras.
Dancing lights
Crazy lights
Karma Police
Green Plastic watering can...
here's a vid of the FX. They had one with falling rain I didn't film that was cool and the last song had words scrolling across the bars.
Everything in its right place...
