Memorial Day Day
A meeting of family for food. West Coast style!
Looks like giant tortellini
Front row L --> R is my grand aunt Sophie, Helen (wife of), Chris (my 1st cousin once removed).
Back row L --> R is William & Alexandra (children of Helen and Chris), Chris' younger brother (and obviously another 1st cousin once removed) Henry and his wife Anna. Then me.
Ah, an image that lives in every Chinese person's childhood. The horse race for the check.
San Francisco Ferry Building. I knew they remodeled it but I had no idea it was like a mall inside.
A view out towards my old home.
Afterwards we were all heading for our cars (well I wasn't) and I ask Henry if he was going home.
Henry: "No, we're headed for the new mall"
Me: "Me too. I'm going to go see Spiderman"
Henry: "Us too"
The mall isn't too new. It opened last November. Here is the large oculus in the middle.
Wow. I was warned that this one was bad. Really bad. Musical numbers. Spiderman swinging in front of American flags. Kirsten Dunst. But no warning could truly realize how awful it was. I went in with really low expectations and the movie managed to surpass even those low expectations.

Pizza Time
I take myself to Pizzetta 211 about once a month. It's so good.
Roasted Torpedo Onions, Butter Beans w/ Pesto, Goat Cheese Crustini.
Roasted German Butterball Potatoes, Speck, and Raclette Pizzeta. This was the first pizza I've had there with meat. I had gotten pizza with speck (ham) in Italy at the "World's Best Pizzeria" and while both were different, I'm gonna have to somehow say this one was put together better. The ingredients were well balanced while the Italian one I found that a lot of the superior flavors were out of balance and competing with each other.
Almond Palenta Cake w/ Strawberry glaze & organic freshly whipped cream

wedding
May 25th 2007, Burlingame, CA
Mercy High School. a.k.a Hogwarts School of Wizardy and Witchcraft. It was like the type of school you see in movies. The above picture is unlike any high school I've ever been to.
Anyways, the bride with groom. Guess who's parents these two are? Oh wait, let's back up a bit. Who are these people anyways. Lynda is my dad's cousin. Lynda's mom is my grandfather's sister. Or my dad's aunt. So what does that make Lynda. This was a popular question. Thanks to a recent digg article, I was able to answer with 90% certainty.
As you can see from the chart, Lynda is my first cousin, once removed. The orange box is in fact me. Weird how my cousin's children and technically also first cousins, once removed. This chart doesn't really touch on your cousin's cousin. If there is no blood relation, are they not cousins? But I digress.
3 of my dad's aunts.
The list.
It'll be more fun to look at the menu and figure out which is which. The vegetarian spring rolls were the only ones I failed to photograph.
More once removed-age. Chris Loh (with wife Helen) is also my first cousin once removed. I hardly remember him since he was presumably at college when I was young so I didn't see much of him.
Lynda's older sister Janice with her two kids and husband. The second child is "under the table."
There is no halibut photo as I was not partaking. But I would have! The servers didn't even blink in the following exchange:
Server: Fish or Meat?
Me: [did you just say 'meat?'] I'll have one of each.
Server: [stares blankly]
Server: Did you say fish or meat?
Me: I said I'll have one of each.
Server: [stares blankly] Huh?
Me: [defeated] ah, never mind. Meat me.
Server: meet you where?
Well the last part I made up.
